A REMODEl MAKES AN INVESTMENT IN THE COMMUNITY

Recycling, Donating and Sharing Became a Priority
A sleepy, old cottage with crooked, oxidized windows sits on the wooded peninsula of Lake Macatawa. Just eyeing it, one can hear the clack of the screen door as it closes against the wood frame while groceries are unloaded and children run excitedly in and out. The quaintness beckons you inside, and the warm, inviting interior entices you to stay for a while. The cottage epitomized the homeowners' feelings and became the inspiration for their remodel.
The owners not only reinvented their 12-year-old, West Olive home into a warm, cozy and inviting retreat for everyday living, but also contributed to the community in many ways. Knowing that the stock market was taking a dive, the building industry was slowing, and people were rapidly losing their jobs, they looked for ways to invest in the community. A remodel seemed to offer multiple ways to do that.
They recycled, donated and shared all building materials, along with appliances, hot water heater and furnace.
